Every TritonCart shop runs on the same platform: an open-source commerce core, a storefront we build for your brand, and the operations around both. This page is how it is built — for the people who ask.

The storefront
Fast for your customers first.
- Rendered on the server
- Every page arrives complete: readable by search engines, usable before any script runs.
- Cached at the edge
- Pages and images are held close to your customers and refreshed when something changes.
- Images sized per screen
- WebP in three sizes with srcset — a phone never loads a desktop picture.
- Phone first
- Designed on the small screen first; the desktop gets the same shop with more room.
Under it: a headless API (Medusa) and an Astro storefront, with Vue where a page needs interaction. Not a theme on someone else’s shop.
The install
One install per customer, nothing shared.
Your own server, database, search index, storage and CDN hostname. No other customer’s data sits next to yours, and no other shop slows yours down.

No lock-in
Your data is free. The software is ours to run.

The commerce core is Medusa, MIT-licensed. Nothing proprietary sits between you and your data.
Export at any time
Products, variants and prices, customers and orders as CSV or JSON; images as the originals you uploaded.
When you leave
A full export within 30 days, no fee. Then the install is destroyed, and we confirm it in writing.
What we do not offer
Self-hosting of our platform layer, or a hand-over of its source. The value is that we run it.
Data protection
Hosted in Germany. Processors named.
Servers and storage are in Germany. Pages and images reach your customers through Cloudflare’s network, under a data processing agreement. Your order comes with ours (AVV). Credentials you give us are stored encrypted.

Which technology is TritonCart built on?
An open-source commerce core — Medusa v2, MIT-licensed — with a server-rendered Astro storefront, PostgreSQL, Meilisearch for search and Redis. Each customer gets a dedicated install on a server in Germany, delivered through Cloudflare’s network, and every install runs the same tested release.
Who owns my data — and can I leave?
Your data is yours. Products, variants and prices, customers and orders export as CSV or JSON at any time; images as the originals you uploaded. If you leave, you get a full export within 30 days at no fee; then the install is destroyed, and we confirm it in writing.
How is data protection handled?
Servers and storage are in Germany. With your order you get our data processing agreement (AVV, Art. 28 GDPR), and every processor is named on this page — Hetzner, Cloudflare, Brevo and Coolify Cloud. Your payment provider is your own contract, not one of ours. Credentials you give us are stored encrypted.
